Since you mentioned in a previous post that you're working on development of a pre-trip procedure, Appendix G of the FMCSA regulations may be of help to you. It lists the minimum standards to be met during a periodic inspection. Lots of dry reading, and some will not be applicable to the equipment that you may be using, but it is comprehensive.

Appendix G follows the new requirements of 393.207 which does not allow any broken leaves in a leaf spring assembly. The out-of-service criteria allows up to 25% broken or missing leaves before being placed out-of-service.windsmith and American-Trucker Thank this. -
