Take a look at the photo, and try to figure out how fast this lady was going when she hit the bridge. She took out a good 48 foot ot the 53 foot trailer in the process.

She was haulin freight no doubt!!! unreal
I wonder if the bridge was marked? -
If it wasn't, she might get lucky and not be in a heap of crap.
If it was, hope she had fun.
Looks like one heck of a wild ride! -
She really must have been moving to get that far under it. It looks like that is a small local road to be going that fast on. I think even if it wasn't marked, you could see that it looks extremely low. She must not have been paying attention to the world around her.

Gabbing on the phone? doing her nails? putting on makeup? reading Cosmo?
Surely there is a reason for someone being this brain-dead/ stupid.

We have a bridge near where I live that routinely had trucks get stuck under it. And it has been marked for many years. They kept adding more and more signs, even a flashing light and big yellow sign way before it. For a long time it seemed like at least once a month it happened.
It's on route 20 in Westfield, Ma. It has a sharp dip in the middle so normally a flatbed could get under it empty, but a normal van would get stuck when it would start up the other side. -
Can you say OOOOOPPS?

Wow, that had to hurt the ego!
There are some railway bridges in town, even though I know I am under the posted height, I still suck in my breath as I go under them expecting the worst!
There is a bridge on one of the major roads coming from the north, where they have a detector at the bridge height, and lights flash if triggered to alert the driver that his load is too high for the bridge. Guess, they must have had enough accidents to put this in place. -
I think it will need more than duct tape to fix it

Our trailers are light enough that if I have to go empty underneath a close bridge, I go very slowly so that the trailer doesn't bounce. I have a little bit of an edge though if I am worried. I have ladders on the trailer and I can climb up and look down the length of the trailer if I have doubts. I've taken a 13'6" under neath bridges marked 12', which means that you can't trust bridge markings at all. From years of using large farm equipment and getting them under the wires on country roads, I have a pretty calculated eyeball when it comes to heights.
