I kinda wondered about that georgia pacific dedicated being pretty busy.
That fleet is on the voice mail quite often, High turnover rate and I'm guessing
Very little home time. Looking forward to your posts on this fleet.

I'm supposed to be home every weekend for my reset so we'll see. Luckily I only live about two hours from the GP warehouse in Elwood, IL.

Peru, IN. Heading to Athens, AL. Was hoping to get a student this week, no luck. Going home over the weekend for 3 days then maybe get my first student next week. We finally got Internet back home (been without for 5 months). Got to Skype with my youngest son (5 months). Was really nice. I'm telling you, if you have kids at home, video chat can really make the distance seem shorter being able to see each other. Really great.
Cheryl, truckerdan007, skyviper73 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I have to agree with this because we do it too and it makes a big difference to the kids and even for me to be able to see him and talk. Still not the same as being home, but it makes it a little easier.
He's in Fremont IN tonight...his reload came out of the same place he unloaded so that was nice, but he has to relay the load in Gary tomorrow morning and pick up a 2stop farm equipment load heading back to NY.Treefork Thanks this. -
My daughter won't talk to me on the phone. She has to do it over Skype or she cries. (She's 4.) Any chance I get where I am near a trk stop with internet I try to get on, but flatbed doesn't always put you in the friendliest spots for internet so it's hit and miss. Actually just got off with her and she usually is much happier after seeing me, even if its grainy sometimes. I would highly recommend it for anyone who has children. Helps keep the bond.Treefork Thanks this.

I always tried the t/s internet, but got tired of paying here and there. With my droid and verizon phone i can use the web wherever i am and have a signal. It was only an extra 20 or so.

Hanging out at The Tennessean truck stop by Cornersville,TN. Had dinner at Pops BBQ. Very good and a lot of food for the money. Deliver 40 miles away in AL at 0800 so I get to relax the rest of the evening.
Bought a new cb last night as mine stopped transmitting and I feel naked without one. Got one of those Cobra 29 LCD with Weather Channel. It's not my old Cobra 148GTL, but I like the digital screen and meter. Hope I can get my 148 fixed. -
I love that truck stop! Always get a fried bologna sandwich for me and a smoked ham for my parents. Let me know how you like the Cobra 29 LCD. I'm thinking about retiring my Cobra 25 NW for the new 29.
At the Pilot in Seville, OH and my delivery is about 22 miles away in the morning at 0830 tomorrow. Nice to have a little breathing room after the last two days of tight scheduling.
Have a preplan back to Gary to relay a load and I think this was their solution for a couple repairs I need. Had the drivers side windshield replaced about a month ago and its already cracked again. This time its worse than before and has grown to just over a foot long. I also have developed a coolant leak at the Y joint that goes to the tank heaters. Its not bad but I can smell it. I really don't want Gary to touch my truck but what can you do?

sitting at the hook off I 81 xit 219 in PA...heading to chattanooga.... its was a good thing I got an early start to the day...cause when I showed up to my shipper in Kingston ON there was only 1 load ready going to Chattanooga but I wasn't given any PU/BOL #s so I snatched up the paperwork and verified with my FM that it was mine and he said take it...right after he said that another driver walked in and he was heading to the same place...but his load wouldn't be ready til 5 tonight (btw it was 1130) if he had been 20 minutes earlier he would be here and I would be there....I really felt like a Blue Falcon...but as his consolation prize I fixed his leaky glad hand that he was complaining about...the guy didn't have any tools
so i squared him away and made him inspectable again...I guess thats a plus 1 for me....

so far I really like it. Thinking if I can get my old one fixed I'll put it in my pickup truck at home. The 29 doesn't have sideband but I've never got anyone on there anyway.
. Here's a shot of it. You can change color to blue, red, orange or green. Also has weather band radio.
