I've been thinking of all the benefits O/O, and all the headaches. So before jumping into o/o. I would like to maybe do the l/p first. Now, ive even said in these forums that solo l/p turn back in there trucks because they can keep up with the payments, but I am wondering... How about teaming l/p? Also let's say I team... I get payed X amount... Do I hcve to pay the co driver out of my own pocket? Anyone have any thoughts about this?

Yeah,USX wont lease a team a truck. They lease out 07 century freight shakers(the base model) with only the cat engine.(they sell all the detroits, because no one wants the cats)you start out with a 600k truck, that 20 company drivers have taken excellent care of and get around 6mpg that you're buying the fuel for and you might get lucky and make it 6 months before major repair issues force you to be back at square one, BROKE!Teams put to many miles on a truck, thats why they're always in brand new rigs.Could you imagine putting teams in 600k mile trucks, thered be truck parts scattered all over the U.S.stay away from USX's lease deal.Use your head, even going solo and ending up 2 yrs down the road with a wore out century with a engine that gets 5 mpg and needs a 20k$ inframe on it,what have you got? the answer is simple= Nothing

USX will lease a truck to a team. A couple I was in orientation with switched to lease and they love it.
Yes, you will have to pay your co-driver. Settlements are paid to the truck. That's why team leasing really only makes sense for couples, unless you can find someone willing to work for peanuts.
A lot of people go into a lease looking to purchase the truck. Don't do that. Just think of the truck as a tool that makes you money. Once the lease is over get rid of it and get a new lease. -
Very good points... I sure anyone (maybe prior military because of va) would work for me with no benefits. As far as leasing from UsX... Ya I've heard horror stories from them. (did you know there is a waiting list to lease, if you're a company driver? Called the l/P department, that is what they said).
My second option is to buy my own truck and lease it on to UsX, which I've heard is the best option. I've heard about a company in gulf port that sells trucks. Anyone know aboutem? -
gulf port, florida ??

Mississippi, I heard (take this with a grain of salt) that you can walk in and put 2k down payment and walk out with a low mile Pete through Volvo.
This is coming from another driver so it could be total bs. -
