Because trucking companies are saving money hiring drivers from the bottom of the barrel to haul their cheap freight.

Another GPS person. when will people learn they don't work for trucks and if you do use one use some common sense. people are always listening to the stupid GPS that has no real idea of where you are.

Hardlyevr....Not all new drivers are bottom of the barrel. Even if they are, they can still read signs. That is no excuse!!

Okieron.....A GPS might tell you to go on that road, but it can not blind you from reading signs that are clearly marking the RR crossing. Once again...not a valid excuse!!

I admit I rely on my Rand McNally 710 and without it I would not be able to drive OTR. However there have been many times when the gps had told me one thing and best I can explain is a gut hit you know that's not right felling.

It has told me to turn on to 10 ton roads the signs are there NO MORE THEN 10 TONS.. So I don't turn down that road gps reroutes boom I am on a nice 8 lane freeway. Just takes common since. IMO of course :biggrin_255:

Can still read signs??..I find that a majority of these new drivers can't operate a truck much less a car..

I can't tell you how many drivers I've seen that are just plain clueless as to what they're doing or even where there at.

Thats what I was saying but its not just truckers these people go buy a gps and then all they do is listen to it talk. a few years back some people went down a fire road in winter and died! I mean what do you have to do to get people to look at the signs watch what they are doing and pay attention. between cell phones and gps's we are gonna disappear like dinosaurs. or the government is going to regulate us to death because of stupid people like this.
