Look in the good company section for a thread by me called Life at American Central Transport. All the info you could need is there. If not PM me.SHC Thanks this.

They have decent scores however Fatigued Driving is just 5% below threshold. So you are going to have a slightly higher inspection rate. So if you go with them I would keep logs and papers 110% legal.
But why would you want to go with a company that pays mileage? Any company that pays this way is going to be high miles to be able to make average money. Even the meager rates LS van guys get will beat this.SHC Thanks this. -
Never met you, but have seen allot of posts by you & beginning to like your train of thought!! Just saying!!

Now you drop the LP bomb.
At $.98/mile + fsc puts you under $1.50/mile. Adjust for actual miles and you are around $1.40. Figure it is costing you $1.20/mile or more to run the truck and you are making less than what someone out of school is making per mile.
To make an LP work in todays market you have to average over 3000/week. But Act is a regional carrier so that will be very hard to do. You are not going to be getting 1000 or 2000 mile loads. Likely average is going to be in the 500-600 range, maybe less. So now to try and get the miles you need to make money you are bumping into HOS issues.
You are going to get a lot coming back on the LP thing. I am not completely against these if done right, with a plan and it gets you to the next stage (ownership, making significantly more money, etc).
But don't see that with this company. Mostly because of the miles and cost of the lease.
And not familiar with LP company that pays percentage. Maybe JB Hunt is still doing this. -
only one i know of is colonial freight ,they pay 67% to haul frozen meats from the carolinas to tx and kansas

We have the lowest pull in rate possible with Prepass at 5%. I hardly ever get a red light at all. Been here a year and I have never been inspected in that time. Shouldn't you always keep your logs and paperwork legal no matter who you work for?

Bill you crack me up sometimes. You don't see ACT's lease as being good but yet you have previously said you see CR England's as being good. Where you get that it costs $1.20 to run the truck is beyond me. It costs me no more than .90 a mile to run my truck running 2500 miles a week which includes .07 per mile going to my maintenance fund. Our rate is now $1.00 a mile plus fuel surcharge of .47 per mile. I was making over .50 per mile after expenses when I started before I started getting the higher mileage rate I get now. Please show me one CRE solo lease guy who is not training making the kind of money I make. Just one. I can show you guys here at ACT making more than I make. I am coming up to my one year mark here and I will have made real close to $90,000 after expenses for that first year running solo and only averaging about 2500 miles a week.
Jaguar115 Thanks this.
