Nowhere else, besides this forum, have I seen a so many belittle others who are willing to do work for less than the best of wages.
They're probably the same armchair warriors that complain about unions, "lazy" or incompetant people who don't want to work hard, or want everything handed to them on a silver platter via the welfare state or fraudulant disibility claims.
Used to be, at least in my world, it was honorable to start at the bottom, work one's way up to a higher position with some more responsibility and hopefully higher pay.

So why did u quote me, whats wrong with my statement.
-
You should be able to idle to recharge the batteries. Just not excessive idling.
-
I think he quoted you for saying you don't care what you haul. Just give it to me and I'll haul it kind of attitude gets rarer these days.
-
so because people are fine with where they work and comment on here about their company they are wrong? If they are happy where they are why is it a problem. "For a company like may"... I guess I missed the poll where we all found out which company was #1. Even if you were to look at werner and swift, as much as people like to bash those 2 companies, guess what, they are still in business and have thousands of trucks so they must be doing SOMETHING right. what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another. What you might see as a deal breaker, someone else could care less about....
-
No, I'm saying I agree with your philosophy, in fact. I was referring to those that would belittle you for being willing to haul anything for a fair day's pay.

New Jersey idling law, read line one. As long as you are in sleeper berth not in a residential area, you can idle for climate control IF the truck is equipped appropriately. I believe that most of May's trucks in the fleet are equipped with "Clean Air Idle" motors, are they not? Mine is.

Good to know. Was staring at those "No Idling Allowed, Maximum $250 Fine" signs at this travel oasis... Doesn't leave much room.
-
Though I read further down, and it says that the sleeper berth exemption no longer applies after May, 2011... They're really pushing APUs.

apu usage may be a business reimbursable expense. It's used while you are away from home and it is an expense to the driver.
