I will be going out there to check out their trucks soon. I want to get the truck I pick out checked out at a good shop. I have seen that some strongly recommend a dyno test, but does anyone have a shop reference that will do this? How much should I expect to spend having the truck inspected and run on a dyno?

$250 for a full mechanical inspection and a dyno pull. Well worth it in my opinion..... never actually been to the Council Bluffs location but I did just drive by there last week and they have about 45 trucks sitting out on the lot. Mostly 9400i's from what I saw.

They have their inventory listed on their web site. U will need insurance to take the truck to an independent shop

they have a place that can provide that, and you will need bobtail anyway.

Okay, I called OOIDA and Progressive. Neither claim to offer any sort of temporary insurance. They both only offered full term policies. OOIDA was crappy to deal with. I have private insurance with Progressive and had no issues but maybe I wasnt asking the right questions?

I found this place called TEC Insurance ou of Portland, Oregon. I cant find anything on this company. Anyone ever heard of them?

I was looking for a truck in IA since it is the closest to me, but the only truck they have available in my price range and spec'd right is in GA. That will be more money in fuel to drive back, but I guess it will work. It's a former Marten '06 T600. Hopefully it checks out okay on the dyno.

I am trying to make a checklist of specific things to inspect on this truck. Whatever is outside of the normal overall pre-trip. I cant just assume the shop I take it to is going to find every issue. So I want to be stingy with every little thing since I dont have a whole row of T600's to pick through. Just the one. Anyone have a good list for a C15, 13spd, or T600s in general? I have driven a couple different T600's. An 07 with a Cat/10spd and an 05 Cat/9spd(yuck). I do know to always check the injector plugs for oil, but how do I know someone didnt just clean it up? Also I know the fuel transfer pump springs wear out over time. How can I check this out for myself? I would also like to know if it's been shimmed or updated with the new spring kit. *phew* I am a heavy researcher, but I know I cant know everything. And trusting a shop makes me nervous.

Thanks for the help so far.

again, jarhead , lone mountain has a policy you can get from true north. i got mine there and then kept it there as they will require gap insurance on the physical damage. i just found it easier to cut to the chase and get it there and get the truck home.

you will find the requirement for gap insurance makes it a little pain.

but i have had wonderful service out of my t600 i got from there
