I hate to say this, but it was the same story with me, except for the "required reset". I got very little mileage and with the 1970's cpm rate, was quickly getting into a financial bind. I went to another outfit after 4 months, and the pay and mileage increased dramatically. My last check was close to a thousand.

Hubby is doing van. Crete is only 3 months but from what I have learned you really don't want to leave before you do a year. I think it is like that with all types of professional jobs though. I know when we get an application for a new nurse, if he or she has gone to several facilities and left them it makes us wonder. By the way, went to walmart today. Has anybody ever told you all thank you for bringing it? I mean you all sacrifice being home with your friends and family. And your spouses sacrice too. Well, if nobody has said it too you let me be the first to say it.... Thank you!

I left SWIFT at 90 days and went to Schneider. I liked SWIFT, but I l-o-v-e-d Schneider; some don't though. Made a lot more money at Schneider; no $1000 checks either place. Ran 12-14 out with 1-2 home with SWIFT and ran 5 out and 2 home with Schneider. Swift was 2000 miles a week and .25 CPM. Schneider was 2200-2400 miles a week with .29/.27 CPM.
DM at SWIFT was Jill Henry, she worked very hard to keep me moving even though truck seemed to be broken every week.
DBL at Schneider was Jackie Walker, she was a driver for 6 years and taught me a lot about keeping moving and working smart.
My families needs changed and so I got off the road and found a local job running a flat bed; home 6 nights a week, stay in a hotel 1 night a week, run 2000 miles and gross $1000 every week. Paid for EVERYTHING I DO; .31 CPM, $6 stop pay, $11.00 per hour for everything else, including getting the truck washed and fueling. Another nice perk is the 2012 Freightliner day cab that I get to pick up in a couple weeks when it arrives at corporate office. And the BEST part.... my truck will do the speed limit... HURRAY!!
Tell the Mr. to stick it out and make sure to keep his status updated several times a day. If he communicates with them they will reward him with more consistent runs. Tell him to say "Thank you" to the DM as they do work hard even when it does not seem like they are and the DMs job can be a thankless job. I found that even after I left the companies called me with some pretty nice opportunities and offers; things other drivers do not often get offered, if my situation had been different I would have jumped at one or two of them... like a dedicated run out of Wabash hauling new trailers to terminals all over the country; SWEEEET. Someone got that job...
Welcome to trucking -
Supposed to be heading to Phoenix to drop off this truck. Is it different in the trucking world to go from Texas to Arkansas to get to Phoenix with the final destination ending in Alabama? Did I sleep during geography class that much? I know I am a dumb nurse but is alabama near Arizonia? Poor hubby dazed and confused.....
