dont you love it when you have 15 minutes left, and you get the red light and have to pull in, then you get a random level 3 from the scalemaster and you have 15 minutes left on your 11 and 14 hour clock?
i was home free..................well, almost. all i had to do was get by that one scale and i was on my way to the house. the westbound scale in Ktown was closed, so it was homefree after that one. but no..........Bulls Gap I81 sb mm 21 in TN and a random level 3 at 12:40 am in the morning...............
needless to say that smart arse looked at me and grinned and said "where were you going to park?" i almost said the house (chattanooga), but then i caught myself and quipped, "i could have made it to the pilot at exit 4. that is where i was going."
that is the first time in more than a year i have had to sit out an entire 10 hour break. man was it painstakingly slow.
i love my job.

Definitely sucks, definitely dumb. Sorry, man, but now you're a safer driver!
Everett Thanks this. -
That sucks !!!!! I drive because of the freedom; So much for freedom.
Hard to Imagine what is happening. God pulled the Israelites out of slavery; Jesus pulled us out of slavery from sin; and here we go again: Slavery to the rich man or government. Well, I guess the devil is pushing his luck. -
I had it almost as bad last month . My 11/14 went to 0 just as I rolled off the ramp in Grosse Tete , LA at the Tiger Truck Stop . .
The next week my hours ran out (well actually had 8 minutes driving time left ) at the WK Truckstop at the junction of the KY WK Parkway and KY 231 . 30 minutes from my terminal but less than 20 minutes from home . My wife came and picked me up .
That fuel stop looked like a Werner terminal . -
well im on loose leaf, but when the judge, jury and executioner says looks like your parking till the morning, there wasnt a thing i could do. i had debated stopping at the daisy duke cafe and eating and redoing something, but i figured nah, its faster if i just go on to the house.
pfft....what a joke that was lol
i did get to watch the infrared camera system the scalehouse has set up for the brakes on all 5 axles. that was really neat to see the differences in the heat on each drum.SHC Thanks this. -
All I got to watch was people walking back and forth looking for a tiger in an empty cage and people quickly retreating backwards out of the nasty smelling men's room on the side of the building .

I have had the same thing happen in spokane, Was just going to the flying J 5 miles down the road. and had I not had to stop at the scale I could have made it. However by the time he was done going threw my paperwork I was out of hours. He said if I left he would give me a ticket, So I had to shut down there at the scale for 10 hours. Was not even tired, I think I stayed up for anouther 6 hours watching movies before I went to bed. Would have loved to make it to the shower and somthing other then ramen and PBJ.

Maybe you guys aren't living right or something.
I've always been allowed to go to the nearest Truckstop when they eat my time.
That said, I have spent more than one night behind the scales, in the past. After being caught with my pants down.
