I would love some clarification because I believe the company I send my samples to said for checking a truck out that you are buying doing it after a fresh oil change tells you little to nothing.
If that is the case then you will want to look at that oil to see if it is fresh.
I will try and get by the truck to get the list that details out what you are looking from in a sample. I can scan it and upload. -
Fresh oil hides any problems.
-
They said this sample was taken at oil change
Speedco ... Sample -
The report should show the total miles on the previous oil.
-
It says 10,000 on the sample
-
Viscosity was still at 14.5
-
Well, if it was done on truly used oil, then I would have no problem with that sample. From the numbers, it had to be on used oil to show iron, copper, lead, tin, etc. Those are all wear metals. And they are all well below anything that would raise an eyebrow.
-
Call Speedco and give them the last 8 #'s of your vin. If that truck has ever been at a speedco they will have all info on it,might even email you oil sample reports.
BigBadBill and US MARINE Thank this. -
I've got a Speedco sample with the VIN that matches the truck
That's where I got the numbers from is a Speedco Anayalis
