You can start at Swift for .27 cpm, and Trans Am for .32 .... why be in truck hell for .22 cpm when you don't have too? Likely others like US Express pay better than CRST too.

Ok,Not reporting a bad company here with my experience with Schneider, but, since i started this thread,i figure i would continue my venture into the trucking buisness here.Well, since my nightmare with crst My wife and I came over to Schneider.I am on my 3rd day with them,my 1st day as my above quote said, was the basic's of getting to know your next 2.5 weeks, what your training consist of and getting the hiring paperwork out of the way, and,NO CONTRACT.We was back at the hotel by 230pm.2nd day which was yesterday, got to the facility about 640am ate a wonderful FREE Hot breakfast,7am we met in classroom where one of the awesome trainers went over logging.about 1.5hrs of that, and, trust me when i say this, when he is done YOU KNOW everything about logging without a question.I was highly impressed and felt so comfortable with filling the logs out without any mistakes. Then we got assigned a driver trainer,My wife and I since were here for team, they put us together with a trainer just to ourselves. He went over the Schneider way of coupling the trailer to the truck, then the PTI,in turn which they give you laminated sheets to follow and can use every time in case you forget something. Then he drove us out onto the road for about 30mins just to show you how Schneider wants you to drive their trucks, which is very easy with bump and run and of course double shifting. Then we had lunch, after lunch he wanted to see what my wife and I could do.I started out driving 1.5hrs around the city, them same for my wife.Didn't really need to coach us on much, except for the bump and run because we never done it,but,it was very simple to do.We got back at the facility about 430pm then he taught us how back and uncouple the trailer the Schneider way, very easy also. Then we went back to hotel.Trainer we had is a 9year vet, very awesome guy and very knowledgeable and was a pleasure to have as my trainer.Today which will be day 3...we meet at 7am then go straight to truck for 7hours of driving and parking the truck and were done at 4pm.I will post what we did once i get back tonight.Oh,and,by the way,for lunch I had a wonderful FREE chef salad. If you like eating healthy they have healthy food and of course they have hamburgers, hotdogs, fried chicken and stuff like that also.Had to throw that in since my 2 weeks with CRST i didn't even get a free bag of chips much less anything else than a headache and upset stomach from smelling all the filth.

back in 2000-2001 is when I went to truck driveing school threw CRST they sent me north little rock Ar for 3 weeks which I called 3 weeks of hell but that's another story.. out of 37 ppl 7 of us made it. when we all got back to Pa to start our new job's.. after one day they came to me and said they couldn't hire me to this day I never found out why...so I was told to go home... about 2 weeks later I got some paperwork in the mail I had to pay them $2000 for schooling and whatnot... I got myself a lawyer cause when I signed their contact saying I was promised a job after I went threw their training and everything... CRST broke their own contact and I didn't owe a #### thing

Just an update from me: NOT going to go with CRST. I'm going with Schneider. Really would like to take more time on researching different companies but I can't afford it, and Schneider looks good and I've gotten about a half dozen recommendations just from people on here, so...... at this point, have an orientation set with Schneider for March 27th in Indianapolis. Can't decide if I'm more nervous or excited!

Well, today i just finished the 1st week of training, and,i have to say it couldnt of been any better.Everything was perfect. Now i have to go meet my trainer and we stay out on road just for 7 days and then we come back to center and have 3 more days of classroom and skills test, then were assigned our tractor. Not 1 thing and i mean NOT 1 THING,did our recruiter lie about.Everything he told us came true and then some. You will be very happy with the company,

Here is something to add to the good of Schnieder. If you are going to team drive for them then they will pay you like a team should be which is splitting the pay and not by splitting the miles which is what CRST does. Now I am going to do some simple and easy math for you so you can see why splitting pay is better.

    Splittling Miles (CRST way)
    1300 miles run
Driver 1 drives 600 miles of it
Driver 2 drives 700 miles of it
    Both make .33 cpm
Both drivers get paid for 650 miles
    650 miles x .33 cpm = 214.50 for a total of 429.00 dollars

Splitting pay (how most team drivers get paid)
    1300 miles x .49 cpm (typical team pay) = 637.00 dollars
    Each driver makes 318.50

318.50 is obviously better than 214.50

You can drive solo for any company and make more money as CRST and you wont have to share a truck with someone else or drive team for cheap.

Well, phase 1 is over and onto phase 2..Phase 1 went absoultly great. Not 1 complaint. My wife and I are set to meet our on the road trainer in knoxville,tn for 1 week out on the road, and, yes i said it correctly. They are doing the road training with both my wife and I in the same truck with the trainer, which is so cool,my wife was scared to be alone with a stranger for a week out on the road. The trainer contacted us,told us what to bring and what we are going to learn over the next week with him.He was very professional just like everyone has been.So far I am very pleased with everything. And schneider pays us for the gas we use and or bus or rental car ticket to meet your trainer and the way back once were done.very cool.I will keep you posted as the days go by with our trainer over the road..tata for now..And yes,we have been getting paid 460.00 a week through their 3 phase training course before were out on our own.
Oh,and, cant help but add, they gave us a free mcnally road atlas, ice cleets for our boots and....wait for it...wait for it....Our driver number, comcard with 200.00 advance on it <which i dont need but was cool> and they have great health insurance...
