I am currently running a 2002 Miller 48' 6/7 car trailer, and am considering going to a bigger trailer. I am looking for suggestions as to what would be the best model, brand etc for what I am doing. I am Hauling cars from auction lots to dealerships, and also from auction lot to auction lot. I am hauling the trailer with a 97 Freighliner classic 470 detroit and a 13 spd. I am just getting tired of getting somewhere with 7 planned vehicles to haul, only to find out, I only have enough room for 6. I would like the new trailer to have the ability to haul a dually or two also. Ive been looking at the Wally-Mo 7cc custom, or the Cottrell 5308/5309. Any other suggestions??
Time for a trailer upgrade, any suggestions??

I dont know if you have preferences. But, if you are asking for advice from someone who has done some extensive research regarding trailers I would highly recommend choosing between Cottrell and Sun Valley. Both of those trailers have well established companies behind them and were more than willing to speak to you on a one on one basis.
Call both companies and ask to speak to a Lead Sales rep or Sales Manager. Describe your business model and ask as many questions as you can think of (have them written down). Once you are satisfied, then you can make your decision. Dont be afraid to ask the "What if" questions. Remember, this is equipment that you will need to rely on. Ask enough questions to satisfy your buying decision process.n1xrf Thanks this. -
Miller changed the design a bit on the '04's & all are 53'. They only have two models a short & a long neck. But both can get a mix of 7 units just like Wally Mo/Cottrell/Sun Valley. Oh & the newer Miller's have better clearance on the back & they have a redesigned rear ramp. The older style cracked where it met the tandems. I had a 2000 48' too before getting the '07.
Honestly, all the mfg's have their strengths & weaknesses. Google Jake's Truck Shop in PA. He will be straight with you. I almost bought one from him, just did not work out. Not his fault at all though.n1xrf Thanks this. -
Aside from the obvious players, I have talked to many guys about their Wally Mo trailers and they all tell me they are built very well, might be a bit heavier than some of the others, just what I have been told.
Also what about Delavan as they have some trailers that look to have a better big vehicle mix then some of the others, JMHO.n1xrf Thanks this. -
I havent heard of Delavan before, gonna have to look them up. I talked to Bart with Wally-Mo, and got a rough price that wasnt unrear, still not cheap, but definetely reasonable.

My biggest issue with Wally Mo's 7 car was that the top center is at least a foot taller than a Miller. Their theory is a full size truck/suv can go in the bottom instead. Problem is, you have to put a full size unit between the rails. Not that it can't be done, it is just tight.
Not sure where you are located, but unless you are up in the northeast alot, try to find one with 22.5 tires. 19.5's are OK & are about the same price, but much tougher to find.
Have not had a problem with the 19.5's on mine, but still not a fan of them & could not find a decent trailer w/o them last year.n1xrf Thanks this. -
Thank You LBZ, I im up for any tips/info I can get on other peoples experiences with all the brands out there. The 22.5's were what I was looking for, it allows me to only have to stock one tire size for the car hauler and our RGN. The miller we have and our RGN both take the same size 22.5s. I have noticed a few rust holes on our miller, some of which are starting to look dangerous, mainly on the steel tire skids/runways.
