So does Link have FL/GA only freight? I ask this as an honest question, my wife is finishing up here LPN courses here in PA and as soon as she's done we'll be moving back to Florida. Here's my quick schpeel, I worked for Pritchett Trucking almost 4 years and would love to go back if I have the chance, but with that said I've always wanted something that's pretty local but still allows me to stay out a few nights a week. I don't need a thousand dollars weekly, 750 is very good for me.
I have a comfort zone and I'm not ashamed to admit that, I like FL and GA and would seriously look at a company that works within that small region. BTW ANJ, you do a good job of keeping this thread going, even amidst negativity sometimes, and good on you Shaggy for getting back out there and making the best of it. -
Start at 8 to do more paperwork, get a driver's policy book, and possibly go over Peoplenet. Ours was later because there was less of us and we knocked through a lot the first day.

Pritchett huh? I lived in lake butler for 5 years.
Most of our running is in FL/GA. You will see other parts of the southeast as well. We have southwest and midwest divisions but they are good about keeping you in your region but will get the.occasional TX , OK or MO load. 95% of the time you will get loaded and back to the SE right away. -
Sometimes the load info will say d&h but it depends on shipper.Sarasota is hit or miss with the d&h ..its whenever they feel like it lol. The load time isn't bad tho. Pretty painless.

I will discuss things with you further as the time nears to move back. Pritchett is my first option, I hesitated on switching from local to long dump running regionally and it kind of left me in a limbo and that's when my wife and I moved up to PA for her to pursue school. The only downside to Pritchett is the low pay on what they haul, but I made it work for me and consistantly grossed 43,000 a year.

I know there is a dedicated P&G that gets to the yard almost daily. One guy in orientation was hired for it. Wife is good friends with new terminal manager so there was some definite and obvious preferential treatment there... Anyway, he said he would be home roughly every other night. I will say this, you live in Ocala, you will see the house a lot! Seems everyone I have talked to had a load going to or through there. Big Target distribution center there and lots of P&&G products go in there.
LPNS do pretty decent down here. My wife is one and transitioning to an RN right now. RNs do the same work with more pay. Only difference between LPN and RN, RN can start a blood tranfusion. LPNS can not. I encourage your wife to go for RN after she is working as LPN somewhere. Most places pay for the bridge program and she can do it at her pace until clinicals. Then most is a repeat of what she'll already be doing which makes it more comfortable to her.
Good luck to you driver and to your wife. We need all the compassionate nurses we can get. They are in more demand than trucking times 2. -
You have to go with what makes you happy, brother. Trust me, it isn't the money or we sure wouldn't be driving at all. We would all be movie stars. (I almost said some other p star... Lol) Seriously, if you're happy somewhere, stay because when you go elsewhere, you'll only pick and pick and pick it apart to find a reason to leave it.
