Shifty you did the right thing. Except maybe you rolled to soon. Never let a desk jockie push you as you suffer the consequences not them.

Sure just hook up the teleporter and come get this load Emu.

Found another area with bad internet and the wifi sucks too. No wifi at the petro, and at the pilot, it only works in the wendys. So I walked over to mcdonalds for the free wifi. Fremont IN. I69 & I80.

Daddyb, if you are sure you can make the delivery on time you can refuse the repower. The desk jockies go by the computer saying you can't make it, and they look for loads to keep their pets moving. Especially the ones who pay the kick backs.

We are the captains of our ships, not the people in dallas. No load is worth a life. And being repowered off a tight load and setting for a day or 2 to make the delivery is why so many quit.

It is all about stevens business model and the thinking they can repower/relay any load across country in 3 days. What this does to the driver is of no concern to them.

Then add in weather problems and breakdowns and you have an office staff that is running around putting out fires while starting two more. And now they depend on the computer to think for them too.

While I am still in rant mode, our safety director does not even know what laws have changed, when they change, or when the go into effect.

A great 60 degrees setting at the picnic table.

Was hoping to move this morning, but I-40 is still a mess west of here.
Looks like another day of drinking coffee and spinning tall tales with the other drivers at the restaurant counter.
Another Stevens truck parked next to me with another Tyson load to deliver in LA.
Looks like beef will be in short supply at Ralphs this week!

Come over to the east coast. Sunny spring.

Total lack of communication, or the fifedom wars are going strong in dallas. Repower 930 this morning. Good. Driver shows up at 1000. Frozen load going to hazleton for tuesday evening. We swap, the refer is below 1/8. So I pull it over to the fuel islands and put 62 gallons in a 75 gallon tank.

My phone is ringing, don't go any where you have to give that load back. Other driver can't make delivery. Well not what he said. Oh well, swap back, yea the DM's are fighting in the background.

So looks like another tyson load is going to be late.

####. So I guess I'm not the only one having fun. I ran the Stevens 500 today in Dallas at the track. Man my kw t2000 was just awesome. She was a little loose in but tight coming off the corners. Made a lil tire pressure adjustment and boy she was awesome. Won the truck race today. Ready for the Stevens 600 tomorow.
Boogty boogty boogty. Let's go truck racin boys

Been catching up and reading the aviary, looks like things haven't changed in the 15 months since I quit Alliance and went back to slinging metal (selling Cars), though strange as it is, I have the itch again. I can't explain it, I just do miss the open road,- the getting up at 6am to a cool bright morning in Rock Springs Wyoming, going into the TA to do my mornin' business, grab some coffee, and know that I am gonna be rollin for about 600 miles on I-80.
If I were to go completely insane and want to re-join Stevens and go back on the road, would I, after being gone since Dec. 12th, 2010, have to go through the whole kit and kaboodle to get back on the road? Meaning, would I have to do the 3 weeks on the hill, and go out for 5 weeks with a trainer and do the dumb and dumber thingy? Or could I just do a re-fresher and go out 2 weeks with a trainer and get back into Alliance?
    Anyone know? Thanks!

    Yes you would unfortunately.

I used to sell cars to lol. I was at a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Saab and Suzuki dealership for like 6 years. Fun times back then but I wouldnt want to do it now in this economy.

So you are saying I would have to do the whole kit and kaboodle?? MMM....., I am thinking my itch is beginning to go away:biggrin_255:. I did drive for a year and two months with Stevens, and a year with another company 10 years prior to that. I guess that wouldn't make a difference, though there may be some other companies that would accept the 'refresher' and a short time with a trainer. I actually talked to a driver from Waggonners that delivers cars to the dealership where I work (Automax Hyundai in Norman,OK, right off I-35, where I see the buzzard trucks driving by multiple times a day) and he told me that his company would take me for sure. That was a driver talking, however, so the grain (s) of salt have been ingested.
Ahhhh, we shall see how my itch goes.:biggrin_25524:

Well home time went by at about the speed of light. I'll be back out tomorrow...most likely with a Tropicana load. It gets harder and harder to leave every time I come home. I'm going to look into trying to get a dedicated run to see how that works with getting home. It sounds like you all have had a great time over the last few days. Hopefully things smooth out.
