Okay, I know this is a dumb question but how does a bunk heater work?

So how is that different from fuel being burned idling? Less fuel being burned?

your motor is a 6 cyl 12.7 - 16L diesel engine. A bunk heater is about as big as a shoe box with a single injector/glowplug. It has little to no emmions, makes almost no noise, but they CAN use a good amount of fuel but still less the idleing

A truck burns 1 gallon a hr $4a gallon 8 hrs $32 a night per driver fleet of 1100 trucks $35,200 of burnt fuel a day. That's why they have idle percentages

I am good with that and completely see the need for it. I am sure a few bad apples spoiled the bunch.

I am okay during the summer months as I prefer the heat. It's the cold weather I don't care much for. Which leads me to this question? Can you bank your idle time if you don't use it?
