Just out of curiosity, does anyone out there on the road bring freeweights with them? I recently purchased a set of 40lbs of vinyl weights el cheapo walmart style, and after working out with them a few times im looking for a better way to get this done.
What Im looking for is about 50 lbs adjustable if possible, or weights that are more compact than what these things are. If I put this on the rack at my gym back home people would confuse it for a 75 dumbbell! i know that bowflex or whomever has a 100 lbs adjustable for $200, hoping to find a better option.
Any suggestions?
Also, when I started driving about 5 months ago I weighed near 330. But seeing some of the slobs out here has inspired me to lose weight and not end up like that! Now hovering in the 305 range.

I use them in truck...The only thing I would recommend when carrying them is to make sure they're secure as they're the last thing you want flying around the cab in case of an accident...

the bowflex are junk and overpriced, look into powerblocks. Thats what I have but any decent adjustable is not going to be cheap.

the 45 lbs set of powerblocks looks mighty tempting. im gonna do a little bit more research and get back with ya.
Also, whenever the dumbbells arent in use theyd be put under my bunk so they wont go flying around. -
Yup ask away whenever. The powerblocks are almost made for a truck in that they have a flat base and would take a lot of force to roll over

I have sets of 40, 50, and 60lb hex dumbbells in the truck, as well as my homemade kettlebell. I don't need anything else for the time being. Soon I'll replace the 40s with some 70s, but then I'll be good for quite some time. Although, I've been thinking about just getting a pair of larger kettlebells. I can still rock great workouts with just those.
PowerOfSolitude Thanks this. -
Well Zantrix here is my 2cent.... dont get stuck on weights. I have free wheels but use my resistance bands and jump ropes for a real work out. I also have the imitaiton perfect pushups and do jumping jacks. I also use this one excersie that does not use weights. From a standing position drop down and do a push up stand up and jump that is one rep. I do like 15 to 20 reps maybe 5 sets and have been getting good results from it. I guess what im saying is just think outside the box when your in the box!

I like using the rubber resistance bands. They work great and I can store them away with out using any room up! I know they are not free weights like you said, I had dumbells in the truck and got tired of them being in the way. Just something to think about.
