Has anyone ever heard of or done business with Cure truck leasing based out of Norcross,Ga. I am considering leasing a 2007 freightliner from them and leasing on to a carrier with the truck...The lease payments are around $350 a week for 120 weeks and which time they will give you a title to the truck....If anyone has info on them can you let me know about it.

  3. I'd make sure about the possibility of a balloon payment. You don't want to get to the end of that 120 weeks and find out they want a $10,000 dollar buy out or something.

I know they were working with Risinger Brothers where you leased the truck from them then leased it on at Risinger. They were old junk PTL trucks and PTL takes horrible care of their trucks. When I worked at PTL my truck had not had an oil change in over 100,000 miles. When I pointed that out that seemed to be no big deal.

ok thanks for the input....I dont think the truck I am interested in is from PTL, ..The truck was in another companies program that is strictly an owner operator company and I was able to talk with the last driver of this particular truck I am interested in just to find out a little history of the truck while He had it....And for those of you wondering about the last driver, He has medical problems and that is why He is no longer a driver.

Okay I lease a truck from them just this past year. I was leased on to Home Depot for home deliveries. my situation may be a little different from yours however I leased a 2007 international 8600 which is a day cab the lease was for 36 months at $450 or so per week. in addition cure required a $150 per week maintenance fund until a maximum of $5000 was reached the only problem I really saw with the lease program there was the fact that I was paying $68,000 for the truck there was a balloon payment on the end of the lease but I don't remember what it was I still have a copy of my lease I'll have to look at it. In my opinion the truck was just overpriced.
Getting repairs done on the truck was fairly painless as they pay with credit card over the phone. The lease included a personal guarantee as well as the ability to walk away from the lease with a 30 day advance notice the personal guarantee however was kind of a catch all for them for when I walked away from my lease they used the personal guarantee to cover them until they could get another driver in the truck overall cost was about $4000.
Obviously as with all business transactions read your lease completely before signing it. Also know what you are getting before you agree to anything. If you can do it yourself and you are knowledgeable enough check the truck out thoroughly and tell them about any repairs that need to be done before you agree to the lease.
As I said my conditions may be totally different from yours. Lastly be sure that the carrier you are leasing to is approved by Cure. When it did not work out for Home Depot and myself I could not take the truck and just go to any carrier.

I would check into the balloon payment at the end, and what the amount is.

They do alot of leasing for Road Runner too.
I almost did it with them. But I didn't really care for the tractors they had available. If I am going to lease or purchase a tractor, I think I should get what I want. Not what the seller wants to just get rid of.

    I'd say there is a balloon at the end 350x120 = 42,000
For a 2007 not a bad price I'd say they got at least a 10k balloon on it tied in some where to get the title ... Plus you need to check on that maint fund at 150 a week or 5,000 is that refundable at end also ...

Other wise you have a rental that you maintain ... If you want it at the end of the term pay us $xxxxx you can have the title cause it's worn out now kind of deal

    Or

    Glorified lease purchase ...
