There are plenty for windows based machines, I would love to use DLL but it is for win, so is there anything for Macintosh, I searched everywhere but nothing good, no maps either, God I love my mac but looks likke I will be buying a windows lap machine too, for the truck. I guess I could go bootcamp and run theese but then I need to find a full version of win xp with the service pack, and I have no desire to partition my hard drive either, I have streets and trips for win on a desk top here at home, and to be honest I like it much better than pro miles or pcmiler, I know it isn;t commercial but neither are most maps and i never hit a bridge yet looking at a map. Any suggestions before I og and buy another lap top.
Is there any logging software for Macs?

If you have or purchase an Intel based MAC you can run WinXP and use DDL and mapping software. Other wise there is zip for the MAC.

I understand that you can use DDL with a MAC if you use a Windows Emulator. Nick has it all explained on the DriversDailyLog website.
OR: if you have a recent MAC (Intel Chip), I understand you can run WXP as a separate OS and don't need an emulator. -
You don't need software for logging. Just a chainsaw, a front end loader, and a trailer equipped with log bunks.

What part of basic logging do you not understand? Why would you need a computer for logging? Daily logging takes 'bout five minutes or so out of your day, it's a simple fill in the grid and add up the hours thing. Why complicate things? 'Sides what really takes your time is when you hafta be a little "creative" with the grid, and the da#*ed 'puter won't help you a bit in that department.

Actually, being "creative with the grid" is far easier with DDL, and it saves paper as well. No more wads of torn-up or crumpled log book sheets for the DOT to sift thru.
My logging takes far less than " 'bout 5 minutes" and if you had ever tried to read my handwriting, you would BEG me to use DDL

I am looking for MAC software as well. DLL is $150 + $40 per year... I was hoping for a EXCEL based spreadsheet to at least calculate my hours 60/70 hour rule...

Please do NOT discourage drivers from using drivers daily log program as it makes my job much easier and to be honest it makes the driver's job much easier. It does all the math work for them and it will tell the driver when they should stop driving via the 11 & 14 OR split breaking. So if a driver struggles with understanding when the 14 hour ends after they have split break, the program will tell him/her. Now with that said the driver should know the "basic" rules of split breaking and the 11 & 14 hour rule.
The recap is done for them and the lines 1,2,3 & 4 is totalled for them every day so they don't have to make math errors and cause 70 hour violations.
Now the hand writting is another issue and the main issue I said ok you drivers can use it! It lets my system read them much much better.
Can you believe I sell probably 5 of these a week and don't get a steak dinner or a thank you? That part shocks me, but it helps the driver so I am content!

What program/system do you sell/recommend?

While I was driving I couldn't find any Mac software to help with the daily reports so being a Macintosh ##### I started to develop an application. It is not yet ready for release but I have a downloadable beta available at MacDriverLog.com. Check it out if you have a chance.
Thanks,
Bob Rice
