    You're welcome.
What kind of information will you be using (downloading/uploading) on the web to run your business that might take up a lot of bytes?

Please, someone rephrase this if I am not posting information correctly.

Well, bit the bullet a few weeks ago and got a Verizon wireless card. Have been very pleased so far. Had to call their customer service a couple times and they were great!!!:biggrin_25519:

In Canada, Bell offers a similar setup (unlimited but really 5 gigs) for $75 a month so now I'm set in US and in Canada.

Also picked up a Verizon cell phone there - much cheaper than local service for US/Canada calling.

So far, I'm happy with Verizon. Time will tell if it lasts :biggrin_25519:

In 6 weeks I am still satisfied.

How well does it work while the truck is actually running? If I am in the truck (not driving of course), can I be working online reliably? One of my jobs requires me to be online for shifts of 4 hours at a time. If the wireless is reliable, I'm thinking I could continue this job and still ride around the country. Could this be realistic?

Yup, in fact, don't tell anyone, but I surf and read email while driving.

It works perfectly well while driving. 99% of my posts on this forum and other places as well as email etc are made while moving on down the road. (I'm not the driver) I have yet to find a place it doesn't work (except out in the boonies where you can't even get a cell signal and then only once in awhile) It works really well. I'm very happy with it. :yes2557:

Hummmm, that gives me more to think about. I hadn't even thought about being able to keep my job with ETS. I could keep that job and still go on the road. I'm excited now. In fact, I could in theory work even more because of the high-speed connection. I am limited in my scope of employment because I only have dial-up here at home.

I do transcription and do it on the road while Mike drives. It's not nearly as easy as it is at home in a quiet, stable place but it's doable and keeps our income up some, that's for sure :) It's almost as fast as broadband in most places, a tad slower in others but pretty good most of the time, especially near large cities :)

Mine has cut in and out some, but that is cruising OTR. You are not going to have a signal ALL the time just like your cell phone. But the majority of the time it works.
