The length of that haul is probably for short term haul no where near 5000 miles a week..
-
Its not for 5000 miles a week but like I said thats what they go for and they are usually a good haul too, 2000 plus miles. But they only come up for flatbed every now and then its not an everyday deal like dry van. For example, in the last month I have seen a call for a team 3 times.
-
We average 3 trips a month, I know some teams NEVER go home, but we have a family to go to and like to relax; we have enough for bills and some but was wondering wat others get paid
-
Anyone else have any input? Where are the team drivers? Probably too busy driving while I'm stuck here ugh

I don't think there's anyone on here running team as an o/o. I never see any team freight on load boards but it's not really what I'm looking for. I do see longer hauls up to 2,000 miles but they always have solo delivery time and normally the longer the miles the cheaper the rates. I see and have called on stuff paying $1.25 a mile on 1500 or 2000 miles, no thanks... There are big companies running team freight but typically pay 95 cpm plus surcharge. What you and your dad are getting does seem above average, as far as companies paying that way goes, but still awfully low... I just don't know how a team o/o one truck show can compete with the likes of US Express, CRST, etc.. These companies have lots of team freight, apparently, and they probably get good rates for their service.. ..where would you find that type of freight? How steady would it be? I have no clue..

I have a friend who has 3 trucks and employs 2 teams. They are paid $800.00 per week each no matter how many miles they run. These trucks are leased to a ammo hauling company.

1.35 plus fuel surcharge, is that for odometer miles, do you get paid dead head, etc? I think you're leaving money on the table, and making someone else a lot. I average 2+ solo stepdeck, if I was team it would be 3+.

I just had breakfast with 2 husband/wife teams this morning and asked them. they are leased to Landstar and pull van loads. They avg $2.75 a mile on ALL miles driven, and get home weekends. 1 of the temas has a dedicated account set-up with an agent, the other one's run whatever comes up and is offered to them by agents. Over here, teams usually do not have to run off the load board as the agents call them directly.

We get 1.35 plus fsc on odometer miles. We don't get paid for deadhead which is just under 400 miles per trip..will give landstar a call and see what they have to offer.. looked @ CDN and emailed a recruiter; after looking on the forum seems like they lie and don't pay their drivers on time..nothing good.. plus the recruiter said 1.10 plus 45 fsc which is less than we get now
