Your doing it wrong, there's plenty of threads on here about double clutching and properly shifting a truck...

It's a 05 Volvo, 430 I think, I don't know can't remember the model right now. Nine speed eaton fuller transmission.TreeStand said: ↑What kind of truck are you driving?Click to expand...

If it shifts that way you are doing it correctly for a truck with transmission problems like that one has

Sometimes I clutch out and float in, that is basically all your doing. Holding down the clutch (I assume only part way) does no good. In double clutching the first push of the clutch breaks torque to get it out of gear, (thats what you are doing) and the second clutching helps to match the transmission to road speed along with giving throttle or letting RPM's drop. With out doing the second clutching you are just floating with some "assistance" in getting it out of gear.
