So been driving 3 weeks for a less-than-perfect oilfield company and my usual rig was in the shop so I was shuttled into a rig they just bought used from a dealer. It broke down an hour later on the side of the road and while I'm waiting for antifreeze to be brought out the Sheriff pulls up and gives me my first inspection. He told me up front that every truck he stops with my employers name on it has had issues and sure enough I don't have registration paperwork for my truck or trailer. I call to find out where it is at and I'm told that neither one is even registered. Cop sees I've been driving 3 weeks and takes pity on me and instead of a ticket gives me some paper that I "certify" when the registration paperwork is put in the truck and then mail back to the Sheriffs dept. I've got 14 days to comply. So, question is, will this show up on my brand new CSA score as two whopping no-registrations? If so, I'm off to a wonderful start.
PS, I'm driving for this company because all the "legal" outfits here require a minimum of 1 year experience so it is do this or get a job flipping hamburgers.
Will this go on my CSA?

Funny side-note, I had a trainee with me and he saw what happened and told me he worked too hard and paid too much money getting his CDL to lose it driving for this company so I'll be suprised if he shows up in the morning.

Wow are you sure your not in Alaska? That sounds like the companies we deal with here. Never get new trucks. They all purchaseused trucks from lower 48 states and throw drivers in them as soon as they arrive. DOT pulls over regularly this one outfit I drive for on occassion when work is slow. Bound to find something wrong. I got grey hair from it for sure!
BTW, is the company your working for named "Black" something Express??? -
Thats a good question! But without knowing what that paper you "certify" is, its hard to say. Without a "ticket" or conviction i do not belive points are issued on your CSA, but im not 100% positive on that.

Rock on, oilfields and fracking! Chew up those rookies and spit them back into wince they came....

It will show up if the sheriff reports your inspection to the DOT..do they turn in every report ? Probably not....But why would you even drive the truck without ALL the paperwork in your hands anyway ?? Everytime I've been stopped the 1st thing they ask for is license, regestiration & insurance...

Short answer is that I never should have but real reason is that I need to get paid, got a family relying on me. I either drive what I get or I lose the job. Believe me I'm looking for better but here in the oilfield these bad companies are what you find when you have zero experience.

It is a veritable carousel here in PA with the natural gas companies. My buddy had a day off a few weeks ago and for ##### and giggles he went and applied to 4 different companies. He was hired on the spot by 3....
If ya want to work about 100 hours/week, while juggling 3 log books, I guess you can make a lot of money (until you kill yourself or somebody else
)

You should hve checked for the registrations befor you evan drove the truck and informed the company they were missing. No registration= truck not legal.

When changing vehicles, or grabbing a different trailer, 1st and simplest rule, no paperwork the unit does not move until it is in my grubby paws.
