Company trucks with APU's

I do. Calex Logistics, Pittston Pa. Been here almost 3 years. My most recent truck is a 2011 Volvo 780 with an APU.

 

all trans am trucks come with apu frig and 2500 watt inverter

Stupid question: What's the difference between an inverter and an APU?

 

An Inverter converts 12v DC to 120v AC. It draws it's power from the batteries.
An APU (Auxillary Power Unit) is basically a generator. In the truck's case, it makes 12v DC and recharges the batteries.
It will also power the auxillary A/C unit for your sleeper.
