Thank you tjgosurf, good information. I'm just trying to soak up whatever I can on here - I'm new.

It's funny that the posts in response turn to the "Pro" info stuff, lol! Since I'm female, that wouldn't be in any of my questions.

    thanks again.

Thank you from me, also. I'm looking for a drama free life on the road also. As drama free as it can get. I'm loving this culture a lot already; think maybe I'm finally on the right path. Kind regards. RRGal

I am trying desperately to get into the trucking industry and I live near Orlando Florida closer to the east coast. I have been trying since November to find someone that is willing to sponsor me and pay my way to school and I have no problem signing a contract with them for up to a year if they would just help my wife and I get into the business. I am a good driver and so is my wife. We have no criminal record not even a speeding ticket, not that that is a little thing, but we are squeaky clean. We want to team up and drive and make a living. That’s all not get rich just make a living. We moved to Florida to be close to my wife’s dieing brother before he passed on, and it has been hell ever since. We bought a house in 2005,(yea we know) what a mistake. We made it to 2008 before we lost it to foreclosure but that has caused us not to be able to get a loan to go to school. We have been turned down for credit by Roadmaster’s and TDI as well. All we need is a chance and don’t want to get into a scam or lose what little savings we have. Can you offer us some kind of help? Thank you and God bless.

There are a lot of options for you, a lot of your major "starter" companies offer to train you from the ground up. I know Steven's, CR Englad, Swift and a number of others do it quite regularly.

I have a question for anyone. 3 years ago I got a misdemeanor conviction (the only thing on my record ever) for possession of paraphernalia . I have not got it expunged (they said it would be done but not sure if it has been). Is there any chance in (you know what) that I will ever be able to get a job if I go to school to get my CDL?

A lot of companies will allow misdemeanors, especially if it's an isolated incident and no other history.

    Vince_Reno Thanks this.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I will go ahead and sign up at the end of April. I wanted to be comfortable with driving the truck as much as possible before the winter months hit and make conditions harder to drive in.

I will be starting C1 training on May 21st. I was wondering what kind of truck while driving for USA Truck? Also during orientation with USA where do you lodge and who pays for it?

Will you be attending the one in Indianapolis? That is where I am scheduled to go. I know that we are being put up in a hotel room for the three weeks, but I have friends that live just down the street from C1 Indianapolis. It is like a 5 minute walk.
