I'm still a rookie. I'm new to the weigh stations as I never had to go over them before I started being sent to a different area that requires you go through one. I noticed that a lot of trucks didn't get weighed in. Why is that when I was always told to stop in when it's open

Probably because they have PrePass and get the green light.

If they are open and the go on by probably because the company has prepass transponder.

If the ramp is backed up to the highway I always go by, otherwise, Prepass is the only reason to go on by.
How long have you been driving that you don't know about Prepass or Norpass? -

There are several reasons you should never by-pass a chicken coup if they are open and you don't have a in-cab transponder (Pre-Pass).

I guess I should have said linehaul and local drivers in my area....if you live in a State that has PrePass and you don't know about it, well you have probably been sleeping too much.
