That's a lot of newbies u see doing that. Also showing up at the same time is our dispatchers fault by telling us we can load when we get there not telling them that they have a load time. As for me I don't go to AK's unless I really have to. I like making money!

Hey chunk i hope you can help me with a few quick questions. im gonna be attending roadmasters cdl school and am aiming for a pre hire and to get hired in with valley. i live in mansfield so pretty much right by ashland. do they allow riders? do you drivers have the option to stay out on the weekend and do extra runs for a bigger settlement check. lastly do they let you take the truck home if you want. thanks a lot man ! really appreciate any info you can give me.

This has nothing to do with Valley. My boy just turned 21 and he got hired by great american as an owner operator. He has his own tractor and is gonna pull my trailer.great american is who valley has their trucks leased to. I am glad they are willing to help a young person get started.I was on with great american lines several years ago before they sold to UTSI and I did good with them. You will be hauling mostly coils and have to pay attention. If you have common sense and use it you should do just fine

you are a young guy go learn something at a good outfit like valley and forget about prime. You will be glad you did.

Glad this thread's being revived. Would like to hear more about Valley from current drivers.

IM going into my 3rd week of training with them. My trainer is great and im learning alot. When they say they will get you home for the weekend they really do. They pay on percentage. Im willing to bet there is not any better equipment on the road then there is at valley. The take pride in there equipment. If there is something wrong with it they will fix it in a hurry. If you have any questions red dirt just ask and maybe i can help you out a bit.
RedDirtDriver Thanks this. -
Much appreciated. I'm out of Valley's hiring radius, but we may be planning a move in the future. If we would move into their radius, Valley would be on my radar, that's why I'm interested in what their drivers have to say. -
Well if you move let me know and i can help answer anything you may ask.
jatwell Thanks this. -
Thanks for this very interesting post! Although I'll never work for Valley, I've always thought of them as a very professional fleet by looks of course. I was looking online at pictures of their yard and the way its layed out....the idea to have the fuel islands as the 1st thing you drive through when you enter the yard is genious.
Thanks for sharing!
