Take this as a warning that you need to pre-trip every truck and trailer you drive. You were lucky the LEO was lenient, but in most cases no paperwork would draw red flags and dollar signs. And unless the LEO specifically told you you violated a CSA standard, and he gave you some paperwork, this will not go on your CSA report.

If your employer won't give you the time to pre-trip the equipment, I would start looking to drive for someone else.

My guess will be that will go on your CSA record and there is more to come because you knowingly drive for a shady outfit. You better make sure to do a dam good pretrip and don't leave the yrd till its to your satisfaction.Ask yourself this, what's more important, making that company money or your CDL.

Your right it depends how he wrote it up and what the paper stated .. If it stated IMPROPER PAPER WORK then most likely yes it will show up ..

Note ... Warnings will also show up on your CSA not sure the weight scale or points but they can show up ...

Traffic tickets ... I don't think do though

The folks answering are correct ...

If you pre trip it ... You own the defect if you approve it to be safe in your inspection or just don't notate it at all ..

i believe checking your permits is part of your pre-trip inspection.
once in a while i go through the permit book while waiting at a customer
the dispatchers favorites will lecture you that your supposed to go through the 100 point check list in 15 minutes every morning!!
    i have a routine i follow
last week the cop waved me in to the raymond scale
luckily he was an older cat thats been around. when he got my window i said "i cant have any points or warnings or anything!
he said yea i know and walked down left side checked for warrants and give me paper that said no violation
he said he should have waited 3 minutes for that log truck.

Your trainee sounds like he has his head on straight. There is nothing funny about it. He is spot-on correct.

Your gonna look great in that blue vest!

Getting a pile of tickets on your record will only hurt. Companies want to see at least a year to prove you know what you are doing out there, not that you are willing to break the law.

Starting off this way will wind up with these being the only type of.companies you can ever drive for.

Eventually it won't matter, they can't add points to a suspended license.

the LEO said he always stops that co's trucks?? sounds like they won't be around very long if the points keep adding up, they will be shut down.

I believe that will show up on your CSA, however it probably wont have any points attached.
