Opps, double post.

I was my understanding that it was an actual federal reg, but seeing how I can't find anything on it in the FMCSR book, I think I may have misunderstood what was being said to begin with.
I will have to ask for clarification. Not because I think this law, or lack of law would ever apply to me, but just for knowledge sake. -
You're right. There's nothing in that green book that states otherwise. 100 nautical miles is 100 nautical miles, regardless of how many state and county borders you cross.
You might be thinking of crossing a national border, say into Canada. Then you would have to adhere to Canadian regs.Female Driver Thanks this. -
Whatever it was that I was hearing, was being said specifically for the MN/WI border. I do recall, however, I wasn't paying 100% attention at that time.
I have a feeling that I did hear correctly, but perhaps it was faulty information that was given. However, I naturally come to that assumption by default first, before ever admitting I was wrong, lol.

In some instances the FMCSA is pretty vague and leaves stuff up for interpretation.Female Driver Thanks this.

On a side note it might be required by a individual states DOT, but that's highly unlikely. My job doesn't take me anywhere near a state border so I don't honestly know. All I do know is that it's not federal. I find it amusing that each state expects CMV operators to know every law. That's impossible.

I just looked at what I think is Minnesota's DOT laws on HOS, but didn't see anything like what I was saying to be listed there, either. I must have completely listened incorrectly. I'm glad you clarified for me though, honestly.Typhoid36 Thanks this.
