I run my own intrastate authority in GA..I am interested in pulling for coca cola just in GA or the southeastern region...does any one know the requirements and about how much does coca cola pays directly? Any info will be useful.
Thanks

umm.. my company pulls cola out of the northeast and it doesn't pay crap.. my honest opinion, i'm sure it doesn't pay much out of the southeast either.

Why not make a phone call and ask how you get in the door? Most of the cola I have hauled was cheap and is handled by logistics outfits...

I pulled Coke out of White Plains NY to Eastern PA for a couple years. You'd go broke hauling that exclusively.

Yeah, the coke dropyards are full of empty trailers from schneider, jbhunt, averitt and others that do drop hook when they are loaded.

I move loads for Coke from time to time out of Charlotte, NC, Roanoke, VA, and Bishopville, SC. They have low rates most of the time. There are so many carriers and and company trucks like Bob Evans Restaurants, Food Lion, Rooms to Go, just name a few, that are using Coke as a back haul. This keep the rates low. Their rates are highest from now to about July 4. because of demand for their product, and trucks are somewhat scarce because a lot of them go to the produce run out of FL. Once you haul a cheap load for them this set the tone. They keep track of what you haul for and this is "your rate" and it will be hard to get them to bulge. They do have some round trip loads to the same places daily; drinks out, dunnage and pallets back. I don't know the rate on these because I didn't want to be dedicated. When you haul a load, keep track of what you moved it for because they will try to lower it if you don't call them on it. They also have O/O pulling their trailers. Last year the started a O/O division running under their authority (Red Classic Transportation) both may be options to explore
I have built a pretty good relationship with them now. There are certain loads that i do for them that they call me i can pretty much get rate I want for these. They pay in 14 day after they recieve the paperwork.Last edited: Mar 26, 2012
