Just bought a Volvo 780, can't get the plugs in the sleeper to work. And the aux. switch on the dash, what does it do? I've flipped it on and off and nothing happens. An anyone help?

Aux switch is dead, until you hook something to it. Pre-wired , right ? For whatever you want it to be.

    Davis6764 Thanks this.

the aux switches are there for you to use if you add something like a fan or lights, if you turned on the inverter and the plugs still don't work, sounds like a bad inverter or blown fuse.

    Davis6764 Thanks this.

The truck comes wired for shore power, but does NOT come from the factory with an inverter. So the 120v AC outlets will only work if you install (or someone else did) an inverter and connect it to the system, or if you have 120v AC hooked up from an outside source.

I have what I think is an inverter box in the drivers side box. It has two plugs and an on/off switch on it. And wires going to the bunk. But when I turn it on, nothing happens. I've checked all of me fuses and they are all good.

What comedian does that skit about the guy at the gas pump trying to pump gas and not gas comes out, and the comedian comes on as the store clerk to say you have to lift the handle? Take that skit and modify it to be power instead of gas and an inverter insead of lifting the handle.

In my previous volvo I had probly the same setup. Truck had several outlets inside the truck. In the drivers side box is a box with an on off on it. This box is a breaker box. The box goes two ways one to the inside outlets and one down to a plug.

There is two ways to power this system. The plug on the bottom side plugs into the line that goes to your shore power outlet. (the plug on the outside of the truck below the drivers door) So when you plug the shore power in on the outside it goes to the power outlets inside the truck. You can also run the outlets via an inverter. The plug thats inside the truck going to the breaker box. Plug that side into the inverter.

You must purchase and install an inverter or use shore power to have power to the outlets.
