Yep, a motor carriers atlas is a good place to start. It will give route specific restrictions. Otherwise contact each state by phone or research that states DOT for the info you're looking for.

All the New England states accept Ct you can get a yearly permit for weight. I'am not sure about all the states but most you need to have the weight listed on the cab card. Call each states dmv and they can give you more info and the forms. I know with my spread flat i can get 92k in Vt and either 95k or 99k in Ma but it does me no good comeing out of CT.

Like Typhoid said, stop at a truck stop and purchase a Rand McNally Motor Carrier atlas.
It has a wealth of truckers info in the front of it, including state federal weight and size limits, bridge laws, low clearances, restricted rotes, all phone numbers for states, weigh stations, etc.Typhoid36 Thanks this. -
