Well I have two days to confirm my decisions to go to Us Xpress orientation or USA truck. Need some insight from fellow drivers. I know since little experience i am looking at about 120 hrs with a trainer then about 8 weeks out with another student is this true?. thanks
Thinking of joining Us Xpress

8 weeks another student...sounds like the blind leading the blind....just sounds like a way to create an underpaid team imo.
In my experance, if you go to a company with a cdl, and after 3weeks of RIDING/DRIVING with a trainer, you are not ready for being on your own (i said riding/driving not TEAMING...if the trainer is sleeping, how is it training?), how will teaming with another newbie help you?
Anytime the truck is moving, if the trainer in in the seat next to you, observing, and critiquing your actions, you can good fast....and catch mistakes before they become bad habits. If you are teaming with a trainer (many places do), with the statement, "wake me up when you get to the city or the hills", not only are you breaking their rest oeriod, but you might have made a few bad lane changes, forgotten to use a mirror,etc...it takes a bit to get used to the bordom of driving for 10-11 hours a day, and not mske mistakes. -
I would say its the Insurance companies making the desicion to run the 8 week team

It could also be that the turn over rate with USX too. Put two people in one truck, keep them as far away from their home as long as possible. If you have to have them sit, make them sit a long ways from home too. Keep the truck running as long as they can, make as much money as the company can until the people have had enough and walk.
Sort of makes more sense after reading that and then you also know why you have to wait 90 days before you get to have health benefits too.
