It's called sarcasim. After all these years of reading about drivers falling for a recruiters line of #########, there's really no other way to explain it to someone. There is no way on this earth anyone should get into this situation, especially if they have zero knowledge of this industry.
un-effing believable this stupidity exists today. People come here complaining and crying for help after the fact. Come on, simply put it's called doing your due diligence. I did it 12 years ago when I started my car business, built it up from scratch then sold it 3 years ago in the high six figures, after spending 6 months with forensic accountants from both sides going over the books, all the while still driving a truck.

The simplest thing someone can do is bring the paperwork to an Attorney to look over. I guarantee you it wouldn't have cost $10,000.

Skibum, that's a PT Barney quote if I recall correctly.
So what's wrong with a purple truck? I'm lost.

I'd take a hot pink truck before I'd lease.

Go talk to an attorney - NOW!! What they are doing is IMO illegal, especially not providing you with a copy of the lease. You need to get out of this mess, but you don't want to dig the hole any deeper. That is why you must seek real legal advice before it gets any worse.

I pick up and drop off on time, everytime. I never refused a load even if it was for 300 miles. I am more worried about never being able to work for another company as a COMPANY only driver as oppossed to the 10,000. In NC only federal and child support can get me. So bankruptcy will cure their sue if they do sue. I worked too hard and spent too much cash to get my cdl to lose it over a stupid mistake. I took the lease because I not only didnt want the purple truck and no miles but also I couldnt afford to sit for a month waiting for a company truck to be offered. I was told 2500-3500 miles a week compared to the companies 1200 a week. But now I see I will end up paying on taxes for money I never saw.

During the lease signing I had to sign a paper that basically terminated my right to ever work as a company driver for T/A in the future. After 90 days I can take on a student and POSSIBLY get 4000 miles like my trainer was getting with me. That is if in the next 60 days I do not die of starvation or my family ends up leaving me to avoid homelessness.

I guess my only option would be to apply with swift and werner and see if they would be willing to take me in. Once approved just get T/A to take their truck and do a year as company with one of them. I just dont know how this will affect my driving report. I can only hope this mistake does my ruin my driving for the future.

This is what kills me on these lease scams. Why won't these companies put these promises in writing?

They have no intention of honoring this stuff. Talk is cheap. If thy won't write it into the contract, it ain't worth a crap.

It's been said many times. These lease scams are written to benefit the company, not the driver.

This business is full of crooks. Don't be a victim.

You can't guarantee anything in a contact, especially things such as "miles". There are too many variables on both sides. A company would be a fool to guarantee miles in a questionable economy with drivers of questionable performance standards, and if there were such a minimum miles guarantee, there would be so much "non performance fine print" language that a driver would be a fool to think there was not an easy out on the carrier's side to declare the driver did not "perform" according to the contract and thus can declare the driver was in breach of contract.

As drvrtech and ironpony said HUH??? No copy of the lease????
How can you prove it's ''your'' truck?
How can you walk away from a finacial deal with NO PAPERWORK????

I think you need to stand your ground with the company and get legal advise that the company is NOT following through with their ''end'' of the deal. I can't imagine if you leased a car or furnature or an apartment and NOT signing a TON of paperwork and then getting copies of it all!!

IT'S A LEGAL DOCUMENT AND THE COMPANY IS WITHHOLDING IT FROM YOU!!!!!
    Call TransAms legal department!!
