You do not need to pull into a scale house with a flashing green light on your prepass and it's best not to either with the green light. You don't wanna give the DOT any more ammo then he already has to give you a violation.

They like to check registrations the first time you enter CO for the year.

Prepass drivers need to read this regarding hazmat. All other drivers obey their prepass light regardless what the sign says. It goes the other way too. If the sign says okay to bypass and you have a red light, you better stop.

This just happened to me in Wisconsin. Sign said OK to bypass but prepass was red. I pulled in.

While I was still active duty I had to rent a Ryder tractor to pull these specialized heavy equiment all over the sates. We loaded up onto a three axle low boyboy with a 60ton cap. I had all the permits, fuel cards, and any other special paper needed for the state that I pre-route me through.

The problem was at every scale I'd get a red light and told to parked the truck and bring in all the paperwork. I did and had no problems. After one trip coast to coast I got two base decals that fit perfectly over the 'Big R' sign on the door and then was never called in again. I'd see inspectors hanging out as far as they could but still gave me a green light.

It was a large problem we they wanted so much on the triples and then when you went into the other state they wanted it back were it was. That means you'd have to unchain, take the tape off the stack. start it and move it about 2 inches. Re sure the load and go to the next state and do the same thing and move the dozer back where it was. After the decal it was smooth sailing. I know some will say that the government does not need permits and that's not true all the time. If the load is under war reserve then it can go. If the trucks are tactical and moving in line thens there's no need. Any other time I had to have all the same permit you guys had at the time but the only difference was I didn't have to pay for them.

Rollover the Original I had one of the Banning guys actually tell me the reason the majority of the drivers who get tickets there is because of their attiude. Its been my experince that if a driver doesn't give a LEO an attiude most of the time he/she will get a warning. I'm not sure how the new CSA deal works with written warnings yet.

Warnings are the same on the inspections and yet you cannot do anything about them since no ticket was issued.

Puting the last 8 of your Vin on the side of your truck will solve this problem.

yes and remember if you can see the trucks mirrors in front of you, your following distance for the weigh in motion is to far apart. they can't add your weight to the driver who is in front of you to his weight. also please remember to ride that cars butt so his weight can be added to yours as well. (all of the above is a great way to get yourself pulled into the scale house) i have noticed if i lift my foot off the fuel just be fore i go across the scale it slows me down just enough and i don't usually trigger the scale lights. but some time you will get that one car that is in the passing lane that just can't stay out there long enough so he comes back into your lane just before you can pass the scale in the road. this adds his weight to your weight and throws a red flag because the scale did not have time to reset itself. (was told this by a D>O>T> officer when i was speaking to him after my truck was pulled on to the scales.) i was close to gross and the car that trip the scale was heavy enough to throw me over the limit and added two extra axles.
