I miss wrote when I said lumpers load & unload. Yes from residence to truck and vice a verse. My co-driver and I packed the van itself.
Yes, he did all the inventory also and I was lerning that.
Im so short though LOL Theres no way I could by myself pack those boxes in as tight as he could. Im 5'2" and he was over 6'2" as I recall :p

Running team as a bedbugger is hard to do and make a profit. Sure it makes it nice becouse one can do the paperwork and the other can do the loading. And you can drive twice as many miles in a day. But the loads dont work out well for quick trips like that. Delivery spreads are usualy made with single drivers in mind. So the advantages of team driving get neglected.

Infact its acualy the oposite that works best (read most profitable) for bedbugging. Instead of two drivers you have 2 trailers. You load both trailers on one coast, then you drive one trailer across while paying a frieght company to hual the secound trailer across. Granted you will kill yourself in the process.

There are many moving company agencies that have company drivers that do special commodities/blanker wrap/electronics/trade shows. There is less hassle and work than household, much less chance of claims, and less labor hired. Depending on the agent, you can get paid by the mile or per centage, and it is easy to be out for months at a time if you run 48 states and Canada.
