I get ripped on in the "Bad trucking companies" section for giving my experiences and warning people about the Corp. I work for, don't you think more and more people are being negative for a reason? I knew truckers growing up and they were pulling 500 a week in the seventies. That is like making 2000 a week now. I agree with Rick G. Wait until the new "vacuum" sets in and these trucking companies don't have the vast pool of all types needing to survive by entering trucking, then we ought to see the industry really SWEETEN the deals. They will be paying out the nose then. All those engineers, mid level managers, manufacturing techs, i.e. white collar immigrants return to those jobs and the trucking companies hear the giant sucking sound, all the experienced guys with good records and good attitudes will be stepping in at higher pay, better benny's and less BS. Bring it Lord!!!

I have noticed that if you get anywhere on TTR and say you like your job, you will be called a recruiter, or worse. I commented on another thread about my year to date income. Basically got told I was stupid for thinking 1100 bucks a week was decent money. Bottom line is, do not ever like your job, and if you do, do not admit it publicly. It's almost Un-American to be happy anymore.

I have to side with Rick G. on this one. I have been driving 25 years, and the industry is going downhill fast. Then when the good drivers get tired of the bad treatment, they leave, and the industry goes even lower.

You can run OTR, and still be home once a week. You can run OTR, and make $1,500 or more a week. The only problem is that jobs like that are not going to be found in those worthless little booklets in the rack at the Truck Stop.

typhoid could live on 50$ a week and still be a cheerleader
all these big companies are in the ata
they all go to the meetings and meet their lobbyists lawyers and strategists
they all will go the same speed, same pay, same bennies, train new drivers to collect tax money.
if you find a good gig with a non ata company are you gonna put the owners name on the internet so he finds it with his google and see's all these lame ### slams against him?

    Seriously?
Your as good,as you let people treat you.Im not a mega carrier #.
Appreciate you pointing the way to the door,I might have never known to quit
Im waay ahead of you on that one,and looking forward to my new job.
I would never treat anyone like some of these poor drivers get treated.
I got more respect in my early 20's when I was working on a trash truck.
