I have a Detroit Series 60 and I have all valves closed for the summer. I am still getting a ton of hot air thru the vents. I have clamped off hoses to the heater core under dash, and it seems to help some, but there is still a slight problem. When on a\c mode, it blows cold air and works fine. Any suggestions? As I said, all valves are off.

What kind of truck is it? My friends truck was blowing hot air all the time even when off it had to do with the control valve.. His truck is a century.

The heat taps can leak internally. If BOTH taps are closed to the heater core and your still getting heat, they are leaking.

did turn off the bunk heater valve , see theres one on there somewere mayby that will do it.

On my T 600's they have a cable that connects to a valve that's supposed to shut the hot water off. Problem is they quit sealing once they get some age on them, and will let just enuff hot water past to make you think they're open. Usually I just put some ball valves in them to shut them off manually. I know you have a Freight liner. but it should work somewha the same. Follow the 5/8 green hoses off the waterpump, you'll see the valve along there somewhere.
