Got a question for the Landstar guys here, who are you going thru to get your health insurance? Talked in depth with the recruiters at the MATS show last weekend and was ready to sign up right then until I found out that they don't offer insurance. Somebody suggested going thru OOIDA but their insurance plan leaves A LOT to be desired.

You might check to see if you can get a temporary plate from a dealer. Otherwise, you will be taking a chance. You may also check with your state to see if they will offer a temporary plate until you can get to orientation. I don't know if Landstar can get you a temporary plate without your having attended orientation. I would check with them to see if they may have a solution.

If you are close to major city with dealerships, that is usual place for inspection. I know that back in the day they had what was call hunters license to make you legal between jobs and such, i dont think they still have them. When I done mine in Salt Lake it was between old carrier and hotel i was staying at, so i just drove 2 miles down the road to get it done, but that is just me. I am by no means saying do what i done, but I wanted the job. to me it was worth the risk.

I figured i would probably have to check with the state about a temp. Didnt know if they overnight since they sent me the form to request registration.

I will ask again what is the ave per mile a bco can make at landstar with a 53 dry van,? I'm asking for a yearly ave not a load by load story.

More than most and less than some! Your post is kinda vague. Your average is going to be affected by how YOU choose to run!
