WTF you running retreads wont mention what speeds I have personally done, that could get me into a wee bit of trouble. Back in the day the posted speeds were just suggestions. Now a days I try to keep it under 75, does not always work but I try.

As for going back to the 55 well I think that would cause on hell of a backlash on any one of the fearless leaders who try. You have to remember the girls and boys in the senate, and the house want to at least have higher than a snow flakes chance in hell when election time comes. Dont know many of them who will be a self sacifice for that cause.

My truck will only run at 75, so I cannot tell you how it is like running at 70.

"THE TRUCKER" had an article about TCA approving mandatory 65-mph speed limiters.

I've got virgins and a couple of retreads on the trailer. Nearly all truck tires are only speed rated by their manufacturers to 75 mph. Some are only 65. A few are now rated to 81 mph though.

That's not saying they will immediately pop on you if you run 90 mph, its just the manufacturer didn't build them to sustain those speeds so you do so at your own risk.

My truck runs 59 MPH and that is it. I have averaged 7.7 mph for the last four months, loaded or empty. I haul milk so it is a pretty heavy load and I admit to being pretty feather footed. I get things done in the time I am given to do them but what I lose in MPH I have to gain in being fast at unloading the truck and reloading empty cases.

It can be a challenge but working for an employee own company, profits are important to everyone's future. Drivers usually don't last long, some see it as not being worth it. Many drivers do a lot of stopping and this usually gets them stuck in a sleeper for 10 hours 40 miles from home.

The TCA is a lobbyist organization they represent the interests of truck load carriers. I'm sure they represent the biggest of the truckload carriers. Like SNI Werner JB so of course they want it to level off the playing field. They also are the ones pushing for electronic log books. Most states are raising speed limits so why would they be for 65 mph for all trucks.

Running 70 plus is good. Except right now I have a sub truck cause mine is broke and it stinks doing 65.

70 is pretty nice. My w900 will do it and has the power to keep most of it on small hills. Gets tiring to constantly have to jump out and pass other trucks.

I wouldn't know considering there isn't anywhere I go that you can run 70 legally.
