It sounds like the OP has a hourly paid job. Personally, I would file a complaint to the labor board.

Well I get paid for every pre/post trip inspection, scaling, any maint time fueling. I get it all. I get it when I pass over a scale and they do not see anything to pull me over for a better look, Funny the truck does not move without fuel so I am saving down time by not running out. Scaling same as per trip I know I am not over so no worries when the scale are lit. Post trip well can save a lot of time in the AM when something is wrong. A pre-trip is a walk around the truck to check the seal on the door if you did a proper post trip then you would have found everything wrong and had all night to get it fixed up. So depends if you want to spend a half hour paid or not to do things that will save you time and money later.

I would submit you are being paid for those things. Take you rhetoric about founding ancestors out of the equation it dulls you argument.

See miles is how your pay is calculated but your paid for completing the load(even if that means swapping it at a yard etc. Etc.) And all those activities you describe are inclusive to the labor of planning, loading, securing, scaling, and delivering in a sae efficient manner. Now the rate of calculation or method may be debated but you are not doing this for free I would guess.

Yatista and Licensed to kill Thank this.
