For the load you just lost, I'd talk with the broker about the truck ordered not used. Most brokers, that is the good ones, will agree to compensate and send you a new confirmation with the agreed upon rate on it.

I asked the broker about some type of compensation but was promptly brushed off and told if they got another load in the area they would call me. I have decided to just BLACK LIST this broker. I am better off not doing business with them. I have had cancellations in the past but never 3 days after signing the confirmation. I have to say that this is the first broker I have dealt with that I really felt like they just didn't care.

I hate to say it but it was a Landstar broker. This is the first Landstar broker I have had problems with.

I ran into one of their customers a couple weeks ago when I was traveling back from the TCA convention. He expressed how dissatisfied he was with the service he was receiving from his LS broker, nothing bad to say about the drivers though. :biggrin_25514:

I guess if you call enough brokers your bound to run into a few bad ones.:biggrin_25521:

If it was LS then call corporate. We have had a couple poor LS agents and when we got no satisfaction we escalated and got our money. LS is really pushing to build the brokerage business and if you have a good reputation with LS and good CSA score they will make it right.

This maybe off topic a bit but I know I have been probably worked over by the brokers. I have little experience in this industry and I am looking for a teacher or mentor. Can anyone offer any direction? I have been flying by the seat of my pants and lucky for me I have had only soft crash landings. :biggrin_25523:

Any other free broker load boards that don't require you to join besides Landstar? The boss told me that if i can find some decent paying loads heading south from the northeast, that he would let me take them. He is not interested in anything that has something to do with LandStar.

Hello Freebirdrfd, here is a website with a list of free load boards
" www. usafactoring.com/Free-load-boards. html " just take the spaces out. There are more out there if you Google free load boards. I am not sure how good the brokers are but you can try.
