Hello, everyone can anyone give me some feedback on a good hazmat tanker outfit in around central Cali? Thanks for your time. I was thinking about going with Quality Carriers.

are you meaning to be a driver or owner operator? i dont know anything about california, but i know someone at QC on the east coast.

the more details you put out there, the better response you may get.

I think Bulk Transportation has a yard in Stockton. I never worked for them so I don't know if they are a good co or not but I've seen plenty O/O as well as company drivers running around.

Cox or Williams both are in Bakersfield. Both haul fuel. Home 4 nites a week, 60K per year. Not a bad gig to get your feet in the fuel game.

I actually got a job with Bulk Transportation. I did my three day in class training, now I am on hands on training. I am raiding along with other company drivers observing and asking questions. It's been a few weeks now and so far all the company drivers I have communicated with don't seem very or at all excited to be a part of the Bulk team. The work seems very slow, the first week I only worked two day out of the whole week. Not a secure feeling right off the bat starting out with a new company. I feel like I should be receiving better training. So far it has not been at the professional level that I was expecting. I didn't want this to sound so negative, I had higher hopes but it is what it is.

    Company Drivers:
    1. No company issued cell phone.
    2. No PrePass in trucks
    3. No Fastrak

    pathfinder1361 Thanks this.

It would be a great opportunity to work as a fuel hauler. Talk to a few drivers at the refineries while delivering fuel additives. I have a DUI on my driving record that is 8 years old. I have visited a few web sites of fuel hauling companies and under requirement it states, no one will be considered for employment if they have had a DUI/DWI.

from what i know about QC, they have what is known as an "affiliate" system. so each terminal may be owned or operated by different owner. or they may own a group of terminals. apparently some of QC terminals are still union (maybe not many, not sure). most are non-union and i believe there are many different pay methods/rates for different terminals. i hear some "company" drivers, are working the 1099 deal-no taxes taken out. my info comes from the northeast, don't know about cali and what goes on there. i think you are gonna hear both good and bad stories about QC depending on who you talk to.
