I am 25 and have been doing trucking on and off since 2010. I am the youngest at my job right now.

I know what you mean ramkatral. When im sitting in the diner and starting hearing some of the crazy #### some of these guys believe I just laugh and dont say a word. There isnt anything I could tell them to change their minds. But I have met some pretty cool people too. Thats one of the reason I like flatbedding. Helps keep you in shape and most of the flatbed community are good people.

Also, the commonly spouted belief that young people are automatically dumber is so frustrating.

Have you met some of the old guys out here? Some of these folks are just plain stupid. You would think someone might pick up a few things over the years, but nope, not these guys.

I've now inducted you as my Forum BFF lol.. you think just like me. Those old, large guys are just jealous because we don't "climb" in and out of our truck, we jump in and out. "In my prime, I didnt even touch the first step..." lol

I'm 6'5" 260 lbs, out of shape, and a smoker haha.. but I still run laps around half the OTR guys out there.. makes you wonder how and the hell some of them pass a physical.. they must have Drs on payroll or something.

For some reason, what you said reminded me of this;

I was once at a Truck Stop in Birmingham, Alabama, and a Swift driver came in the Drivers lounge and asked me a very simple question.. "How do I get to Birmingham Alabama?"... I just laughed because I thought he was kidding.. boy was I wrong.

this thread makes me feel old too, my husband is just starting out and he is 34, We went to get him his dependent ID card today and the guy asked him if his hair was black or gray? I told him "salt & pepper" lol guess he is getting old
