Right AL. I was exploring expungement a wile back. I was told NCIC needs to be notified by local court of change. So I would make it a point of pressing the issue.

once you are "expunged", your record is supposed to be sealed. The court administrator is supposed to automatically do that. It is after all, a court order to seal that record and basically say it never happened.
With that in mind, you can then tell someone that you have never had a criminal conviction.
If it does show up, you have bigger issues to deal with.
IANAL, all that hoopla and you get what you paid for this advice. But I may have at one point in life done something similar. -
i used to work as a police officer in Puerto Rico.. came to miami and start working with miami dade county. on custom protection at the metro rail... during that time i had a problem and i got arrested , 3 day in jail.... had a misdemeanor....my record was expunged...1 yr later , i tried to apply back to the metro rail and background check came with that misdemeanor....went to the court and my record was clean....humm.. !
lady at the court told me ...if ur going to apply for a goverment job.. it will show ur misdemeanor....( police, firefighter, security, airport, etc etc. ) goverment do FBI background check and they go thru the misdeminor......
other jobs , YOUR GOOD.... -
expunged means the record is supposed to be sealed and no longer seen.
I'd go talk to a lawyer about that.
