Going to McDonough? I'm currently sitting in Conyers at yard. Preplanned for repower here going to Lake Park for d/h before 1130. Driver just got here with it. He was at Monroe with me when we got ok to drop our loads early. He finished 10 min before me and was sent to Atlanta to pick up. I waited in yard for it. Lol. Makes no sense but first in first out dispatching does that I guess. Should be home Friday at this rate. :)

Yeah I have a 1900 appt on mcdonough tomorrow. I stopped in cartersville so I could avoid ATL truck stops. If i would have known you were in Conyers I would have stopped there instead. I should be home friday as well so im sure we will cross paths this week.

Be prepared now, you won't get a new truck out of orientation. I just didn't want you to expect one. Dispatch is hinting that another roll in of trucks will be between May and July, but no confirmation on that.

Make sure you check it out completely and write every problem you see. If you don't like your truck, tell Josh (terminal manager) as he will be there during issuing of trucks for that is time he introduces himself and gets you to your DM. He will find one suitable to your liking, unless there are no more, which was my case. Don't be discouraged when there and think, wow, that's a lot of messed up trucks that are in the corner of the yard. They are all the trucks waiting to go to one place, the junk yard. Lol. They are not assigned. Oh, some are owner operator trucks. They look pretty scary. Lol.

Mine assigned isn't the prettiest or the newest/greatest, but it is reliable, hasn't broken down on me on the road, runs like it should, doesn't make more noise than a Freightliner should, and I'm making money with it. So I'm happy and like everyone else, waiting for the next roll in of new equipment to come in. I'll get one, I'm just not expecting it today.

Oh, when I was at orientation, all the other drivers griped about how the terminal was an older building and a old dock. One guy quit over it saying if they didn't have a new building, the company wasn't for him. Just to point this out, if I don't sleep in it, eat in it, work in it every day, who cares... Don't judge a company by the building they are in. You're lucky to walk inside, hand bills over, say hi to your DM,, maybe 10 min a week. They can operate out if the outhouse in the back yard for all I care as long as I keep moving, feed my family, pay my bills, and get me home when I say I want or need to be home. Just my opinion.

Good luck to you driver and welcome aboard.

Probably chase each other down... Lol. I'm rolling out at 0500 so I can be ready for a load by the time DMs get in. Mine has been out the last few days so yours has been handling me. Man does it take a long time to get her on the phone... Handling two fleets probably had her tied up all day long! She got me the ok to drop last load early where my DM wouldn't even try when I asked. He said he wanted to make it easier to get me home. I wanted to run more and she set that up, so no complaints about her from me.

Alot of people fail to realize link doesn't own the property. Its still owned by the hydes and wont allow any modifications (even paving the yard). There's been talk of moving to winter haven or plant city. I think it being a dust bowl throws people off. And all the old equipment waiting to get shipped off throws ppl as well.
