It has been 3 weeks for me and I am loving it! I was in Dallas @ the Flying J and 2 days later it was in the path of a tornado! WHEW! BE SAFE Big!

I too am enjoying my time at Panther. Went through Dallas the morning of the tornado, luckily for me I was passing through instead of stopping!Myyshorty Thanks this.

Well I am in a tornado watch again! Went through Kansas yesterday and they are getting slammed right now. I am in Grand Island NE and under watch!
-
And yes I am still enjoying being a part of PANTHER!

I finished orientation on Tuesday, on my third load (not including a dry run) with my co-driver. Got the weekend off, more or less (pickup not until Monday) with layover pay. The head of the truck has been teaching me about how to negotiate for things like extra pay on long deadheads.
So far I've had a lot of fun out here on the road, the truck has a few quirks but in terms of comfort and space it's exceeded my expectations. I know it tends to be feast or famine, right now it seems to be feast compared to my last driving job's famine. -
I'm thinking of buying a truck and putting a box on it but have a few questions b4 I decide if I can actually make it by buying the truck. I know I should talk to a recruiter but they wil only give me answers they think I want to hear. Is the company good enough that I could make it with my own truck? What is yalls avg miles per wk? And do you own your own trucks or drive for a I/c?

How is hometime as an O/O? I realize that it's non forced dispatch but do the guys/gals that are home more get the less desirable loads? How is the pay per mile? I'm thinking of going with Roehl in August but if I could buy a straight truck for 30k and go O/O with Panther that could be appealing too. The thing I like about Roehl is their 7/3 7/4 and 7/7 programs. I have 2 little ones at home and living in a truck for weeks at a time isn't appealing to me.
-
If the hometime is important I'd go w/ Roehl. You wouldn't see much of Kansas w/ Panther and it'd get expensive DH'ing to and from.
-
If I EVER find a teammate and considered Panther, do they require a company dot physical or would I provide my own?
