bad J1708 wiring from cab TCU. It is in floor. sometimes broken wires from seat to floor.
Tranny shifts well, becouse ECU and TCU communicate via J1939. J1708 is used for display and diagnostics, so you cant access to TCU tor read codes from dashboard computer and it does not read the actual gear. Mid 144 saves TCU J1708 communication fault code.
Wires may be black (400-401) ore gray/orange twisted pair like on FH. I saw bothQUALITYTRUCK and Mlaz Bogdanci Thank this. -
where in the floor is the TCU?do the wires run between the TCU and the eaton ECU mounted on the transmission?thanks for your help pablo!

This is place #1
"Upper" TCU is really thing on seat you use to select gear)))))
Ok, floor wiring and seat to fllor connection is not the problem of Volvo with Eaton tranny, the same problem with I-shift, ZF...
Mercedes Actros MP2 got the same issue with shifter to FR communication, but connector is hidden behind the seat.Mlaz Bogdanci and QUALITYTRUCK Thank this.
