Ah, ok. I've had a co-driver from Tampa before and it worked out fine. Can't make money spending all that time at home though. Good luck to ya. I hope yours turns out better than mine did.
-
Well...on our way from Seattle to Phoenix I sent another message reminding them we are supposed to be home this weekend. Got a msg back saying it wasn't in the computer.

Then it turns out we are delivering to the only Amazon that doesn't let you drop early. They did manage to get us a load out of here tonight. We'll just drop this one at the drop yard.
Ever since the POD people took over I've been having a hard time getting home. I've been out here for almost 8 weeks. Ready to go home NOW. -
Why in the world are you out that long? You only get 4 days off without loosing your truck, unless it's different for teams? The only team drivers I know are Craig and Anne and two of my students who are sisters.
I'm trying to get home myself for 4 days....been out just over 3 weeks...24 days out and then I take 4 off. Any more days off and I start going crazy and want back out...LOL -
The main reasons I was out this long this time is 1) Our last time out was slow. 2) I wanted Easter off.
Also I'm in this truck to make money, not be sitting at home. I don't make any money sitting at home for four days. I only take 4 days off. -
We also don't like to sit at the home area, making no money... We have been out 8 weeks now and are ready for 4 days off... That being said, it states in handbook that 10 days is max before loosing truck. We are working hard to make money so we can buy our own truck and than; no forced anything and yeehawwwww....LOL
Musicgal, been wanting to ask you this question for a while but havent been on here in a while. Why are you making lease payments on a truck that you have no plans on buying? You may have already addressed this question or, I just didn't pay attention, if either, I aplogize up front... -
I know a lot of ppl that do that always have a new truck possibility to make a lot more $ and the buy out is always a possibility
-
Well we plan on buying our truck with cash money, and receive title same day.... That is the way I have planned for a couple years now and though I get impaitient at times, I just cant do a lease purchase and credit is no good. Cash is the key, if you cant do it with cash than, you just don't do it....

Sheepdog, I am only doing it because I was told I could make more money. I only pay 99.9 cents a gallon for fuel, all maintenance done at the terminal is free (and that includes tires), all maintenance done on the road only costs me $150......haven't done too good this month because the miles haven't been there, but I'm hoping for better next month....if not, then I can go to being a company driver and keep my truck....a 2011 Cascadia.
Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
I hope everyone has had a nice Easter. I've been home since yesterday about 1300 and so enjoying my time. My son is happy to have me home since the last time we had more than a couple of hours was March 6th when he drove me to Dubuque, IA (he won't let me drive, says I forgot how to shift my Focus)...LOL
