Hubby stuck at Lancaster. He was supposed to come home this weekend and was never given a load in this direction. Kinda stinks because I took today off so we could hang. I told him to try and come home next weekend. Hopefully they will get him home then. Be safe out there and happy Easter

You won't get back out Monday but should be moving early Tuesday. Trans-Mex shut down Wednesday for Easter so they will be catching up Monday and there will be a lot of freight to move by Tuesday morning. If you are still not pplanned by 6pm go to the window and talk to the planner. Be proactive. It works there. Don't forget to get your trailer inspected when you get there and get there in time to get it done before Monday. Enjoy your stay at my terminal! I do every time I'm "home".

When he has a home time request in they may not notice, or even care.
A few days before his request date is due he needs to turn down any load that is not getting him closer to home.

A home time request is a valid reason to turn down a load, by the way.

    Well, finally got here.
I had to turn down 4 loads this morning, and call my DM, before they got me a load t-calling here.

And now I am worn out, because I moved into a new truck this afternoon.
And when I say 'new', I'm not kidding one bit.

A brand new Volvo. It has less than 3,000 miles on it.
There is still plastic covering things.

I was looking forward to the good storage space in the Volvo, but that is a thing of the past.
The overhead cupboards are no longer - they have been replaced with a simple, shallow shelf.
Don't even think about storing canned goods up there. One good bounce and it'll come crashing down.
So now I have to have the upper bunk down just to handle my stuff.

And I sure am not looking forward to the shorter bunk. With my feet against one side, I only have about 3 inches clearance for my head.

But, it's new. So maybe I can stay out of the shop for a while.

If those were your 'driving' clock, then you averaged 48 MPH.
Those were some slow roads, for sure.
    But it happens.

If that was on your 14, and you went 440 miles in 9 hours, including breaks and pre-trip and and fueling and whatnot...
    Then, not so bad.
